Pétition proposée par l’AFASPA à la signature (sur papier ou en ligne au choix) : LIBERTÉ POUR LES PAYSANS MALGACHES D’ANKORONDRANO-ANALAVORY CONDAMNÉS EN NOVEMBRE 2007 POUR AVOIR REFUSÉ DE SE FAIRE « DÉSQUATTERISER » EN AOÛT 2006
93 paysans malgaches ont comparu devant le Tribunal de Miarinarivo, localité située à 90 km à l’Ouest d’Antananarivo à la mi-novembre 2007 suite à une « rébellion paysanne » dans le hameau d’Ankorondrano qui fit trois morts, une jeune villageoise et deux membres des forces de l’ordre. Un procès qui se voulait « exemplaire » car les paysans inculpés ont résisté collectivement, le 11 août 2006, aux forces de l’ordre venues les « désquatteriser » (comme on le disait à l’époque !) des terrains sur lesquels ils étaient installés depuis plusieurs années, sinon des décennies, mais qui étaient alors réclamés par leur acheteur, un riche promoteur… aux fins d’étendre son parc d’attraction voisin. Une affaire exemplaire de la conflictualité du monde paysan avec l’agro-business autoritaire qui envahit les campagnes malgaches.
Le hameau d’Ankorondrano a été détruit par le pouvoir et ses habitants ont été déplacés après la « rébellion ».

> 6 sont condamnés à 12 ans de travaux forcés, un à 1 an ferme et un à 1 an avec sursis…
REMINDER OF THE FACTS
Petition proposed by AFASPA (French Association for Friendship and Solidarity with African Peoples) to be signed (on paper or on-line, as you like): “FREEDOM FOR THE MALAGASY PEASANTS OF ANKORONDRANO-ANALAVORY CONDEMNED IN NOVEMBER, 2007 FOR HAVING REFUSED TO BE EVICTED IN AUGUST, 2006 FROM THE FIELDS THEY CULTIVATE SINCE SEVERAL GENERATIONS”.
93 Malagasy peasants appeared in the Court of Miarinarivo, a town situated in 90 km on the West by Antananarivo in mid-November, 2007 further to a « popular rebellion » in the hamlet of Ankorondrano which made three deaths : a young peasant-woman and three members of the military troops. A lawsuit wanting to be exemplary because the charged peasants resisted collectively, on August 11th, 2006, to the coming of military forces to evict them from the lands on which they were living and working for several years, otherwise decades : these lands were demanded by their buyer, a rich promoter-businessman, to extend his nearby amusement park. An affair which is indeed exemplary of the confliction of the Malagasy peasants with the authoritarian agro-business invading now the Malagasy rural area.
The hamlet of Ankorondrano was destroyed by the power and their inhabitants were moved after the « rebellion ».

> 6 were condemned to 12 years-old forced labours, one to 1 year imprisonment and a last one to 1 year with reprieves…
